Dawn of a new Sidpicky

Sunrise by the beach

Finally, after months of work and after, my new website www.sidpicky.com is ready and the blog address is now at http://blog.sidpicky.com (Go ahead, subscribe now). Without getting too technical about the changes, I am sure you’ll agree that the focus is now squarely on the photographs. There are 3 main directions I would like to pursue with the new website.

1) Take decisive steps into the world of travel photography. I intend to introduce a distinct travel flavour to the website. How does that help you? I hope this website becomes the starting point of your vacation planning and hopefully, my photos can tell a story that inspires you to share my love for travel. I will also be asking my fellow travel photographers to share their stories so you can travel the world visually for free.

2) I’ve set up a ‘Ask Sid a quessie‘ page where I’ll answer any questions you may have about photography in general. They say, the best way to learn is to teach and I intend to test that axiom. If you know someone who plans to buy a camera or is interested in photography in general, feel free to use the ‘Contact’ page on the website and send me an email or post a question on twitter @sidpicky. I’ll get back to you as early as possible.

3) Review apps, software and other photography related ‘thangs’. With the iPhone becoming the most popular camera in the world, its not hard to see that a shift has occurred in the  world of photography. I will take you through the technology and things I am playing with at the moment. This will help you figure out how to best use the equipment you have to dramatically improve your photos.

Last, I would like to thank the guys @fastlinemedia  who have done a fantastic job of re-building the website to make the photographs stand out and to integrate a wordpress blog which gives me amazing functionality to play with. If anyone is looking for ways to improve their smugmug website or built a photo focussed website, you need not look any further than fast line media.

Thanks for your support and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us next.

Cheers,

Sid Das aka Sidpicky
